G'parents Ohio told us last week that they might come out for the weekend, depending on the weather come travel time. Because it was up in the air, we decided not to say anything to the kids, so when I woke Ed on Friday from his unexpected nap to tell him g'ma and g'pa were here, he was pretty excited. And then he went back to sleep.
He eventually woke after a couple minutes and began playing with g'pa. G'ma went up to get Josie after her nap and Josie seemed to remember her, but wasn't sure she wanted g'ma to retreive her from her nap.
I never quite got the photo of Josie that I wanted. She had this purse slung over her wrist and was pushing her stroller--in her pajamas. It was quite cute. Eddie and Josie are about 50/50 in being in the same mood at the same time. Sometimes she'll want to hug him and he won't and vice versa, and every now and then they both want to hug and play with each other. This was not such a day (last picture-Ed was happy to stand with J, and she, not so much).
G'parents took this of the 4 of us right before they left. Wonder what got us all laughing.
So we try and go to church every Sunday with the kids. They are usually pretty well behaved. G'parents went with us this time and Josie spent the time floating back and forth between Den and g'pa (3 people away) with the ocassional pass to me. Eddie stayed glued to me until the very end when he wandered to the other end of the pew. Mind you, the church was packed--it always is--at all seven services.
If I ever wondered if Eddie was paying attention each week, I seem to get a little feedback every now and then. This week, it was in listening to him sing "Gloria, gloria, gloria" over and over and over....ALL AFTERNOON. Fortunately he has good pitch and all that and it actually is quite enjoyable to listen to him sing. It just cracked me up. Here g'parents had left town and Den had gone into work, so it was me and Eddie (while J slept), Gloria, Gloria, Gloria.
Meanwhile, I am trying to decide if I will sign up for a sign language interpreting program--would take just over 2 years and in the end I would be eligible to become a certified interpreter. It's tempting but I wonder if now is a good time. and if I could fit the coursework in our schedule. I'm thinking maybe not until the kids are older.
