Eddie had his 12 month apointment today. Doc was very pleased with his progress. The stats are as follows:
30 inches long, which is 60%. I guess that just about guarentees that he will at least be taller than me (double the height at age 2 or something like that).
Weight is 21.4, which is 25%. We had suspected he was thinning out thanks to all that crawling, but also because with the solid food, he is probably not getting all the calories he was on baby mush and formula. Course they weigh him in his birthday suit, so our at home weights are a pound more, give or take.
Head circumfrence is 18.5. Don't know the percentage, but it's gone up since last time and Doc didn't comment on it.
Poor kid made up for the bye in his shots at the 9 month appointment. I'm not sure exactly what he got (if pressed I'm sure I could, but it's not like I'm going to turn them down), but he got 4 of them, plus a TB test, thanks to having a daycare provider from another country, even though she's lived here for 20 years+.
I had to basically lay on Eddie to hold him still. Many people comment on how strong he is, including the doctor, so when he doesn't want to hold still, it's a little difficult.
So as the doctor is doing his usual exam and we're chit-chatting, he mentions with a bit of surprise that Eddie has an ear infection. (we haven't seen him since the chicken pox episode--he also comments on how rough that must have been). I'm pretty proud that it's taken him a year to get an ear infection, nonetheless it means a course of antibiotics. Right now Dennis is feeding Eddie rice laced with amoxicillin and to our pleasant surprise, he's going for it.

I guess there was a reason he was pulling on his ear last week. Ear infections are common, under 3 years. Hope this is the only one he has, unlike his Aunt Lore. I'm glad to here the rice with amoxicillin is working. More adventures with Eddie.
Eddie's always tugging at his ear(s). Other body parts on occasion, too.
